In late 2010, Circle Audi of Long Beach engaged ETA to help it sell and lease new cars during the worst economic downturn in recent memory—a time of high unemployment and weak discretionary spending activity. Given the strong Audi loyalty in the market, a competitive blunting effort was employed. This highly targeted communications effort utilized detailed market analyses to reach prospective buyers in Orange County and Los Angeles County markets where competing Audi dealerships are located.

The effort—targeted at Audi loyalists and including cable TV, online ads, direct-mail and PR—helped the dealership post their biggest sales month ever.
